Foremost Launches Nonstandard Homeowner, Dwelling Fire Program in New Jersey
(Grand Rapids, MI) Foremost Insurance Company, the country’s leading specialty insurer, introduced a new program in New Jersey that opens doors for agents who’ve had hard to place customers in the past.

Foremost’s Specialty Dwelling program targets lower-value dwellings, rental properties, properties with minor cosmetic concerns, homes in urban locations, unsupported seasonal and vacant properties, older homes and customers who have credit or loss problems.

"The introduction of this program in New Jersey offers an incredible opportunity for agents to capture business standard carriers turn away,” says Jeff Bair, Zone Executive Director, Foremost. “The Specialty Dwelling program offers two homeowners policies and two dwelling fire options that fit almost any customer situation that doesn’t fit into a standard policy. New Jersey agents now have a program for hard to place risks with superior coverage.”

A Foremost Classic ACV policy is designed for customers with properties that don’t qualify for a Replacement Cost policy, but who still want Comprehensive coverage on their home. Foremost Classic ACV includes Comprehensive coverage on the dwelling and other structures, Broadform Named Peril coverage on personal property and an Actual Cash Value settlement.

A Foremost Classic CL policy is a Comprehensive, Replacement Cost policy (similar to an HO-3) designed for people who have struggled with their credit or with losses as well as other nonstandard risks such as customers who have been previously declined, cancelled or non-renewed.

The Foremost Dwelling Fire One policy includes Named Peril coverage with an Agreed Loss Provision in case of a covered total loss. It’s designed for the unique needs of landlord, owner-occupied or vacant properties. The vacant policy is a full-year policy with pro-rated cancellation, and can be renewed for an additional one-year term.

The BASICS Three policy falls into the dwelling fire category and is designed for landlord or owner-occupied customers who want Comprehensive coverage on the dwelling. This policy also has an Agreed Loss Provision. Replacement Cost coverage on the dwelling and personal property is optional.
